Craniopharyngioma Surgeries
Craniopharyngioma surgery involves the removal of a benign but complex tumor located near the pituitary gland and optic nerves. Due to its proximity to critical structures, treatment requires a highly specialized, multidisciplinary approach involving neurosurgeons and ENT skull base surgeons. Surgery is commonly performed using minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal techniques, accessing the tumor through the nasal passages, or via traditional craniotomy in selected cases.
The goal is maximal safe tumor removal while preserving vision, hormonal function, and neurological status. Postoperative care may include hormone replacement and regular imaging follow-up. These surgeries are complex but can significantly improve symptoms and quality of life.
