Pituitary Surgeries
Pituitary surgery is performed to treat tumors or disorders of the pituitary gland, such as pitutary macroadenomas causing hormonal imbalance or pressure on surrounding structures like the optic nerves, cavernous sinus and carotids. Common symptoms include visual disturbances, headaches, and endocrine abnormalities.
Mostly they are carried out using endoscopic transnasal approach, accessing the gland through the nasal passages. All complex skull base procedures, including craniotomy when required, are performed in close collaboration with an experienced neurosurgeon as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes.
The goal is safe tumor removal while preserving normal pituitary function and vision. Postoperative care includes hormonal evaluation and regular follow-up imaging to monitor recovery and detect recurrence.
